I greet you in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ. From a humble invitation in February 2017 to Pastoral Installation in April 2018, I know without a doubt that it was the guiding hand of God that brought me thus far. As pastor of the Greater Liberty Baptist Church, God has given me a charge to keep “Moving Forward” by the power of the Holy Spirit. As a graduate of Philadelphia Bible Institute, College & Seminary, I remain committed to the Study of the Word, the Preaching of the Word, the Teaching of the Word and most importantly, the Living of the Word.
It is an honor and a privilege that God has chosen such an unworthy child to become his unworthy servant. As Pastor of the Greater Liberty Baptist Church, I remain steadfast in God’s vision for his people as he leads and guides his humble servant. I stand armored and dressed to fight in the Lord’s army until he says, that’s enough. I invite you to come and see what the Lord is doing at Greater Liberty Baptist Church where the love of Jesus Christ is alive and changing lives. Lastly, “I love you and there is nothing you can do about it”.
Rev. Pett Allen Jr., Pastor
Ephesians 6:10-11; Finally my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole Armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
Our Church was founded by Rev. Dr. Willie S. Chambers. The start to our Journey was a little rough, but we kept the faith. Our Church was founded by Rev. Dr. Willie S. Chambers. The start to our Journey was a little rough, but we kept the faith. In December of 1987, we only had 50 adults and 20 children, but we were organized and chartered as the Greater Liberty Baptist Church. The harvest was plentiful, but the laborers were few. The Lord blessed us to build our foundation on the corner of Montford Ave and Fayette Street. Dr. Chambers had led us to the Promise land, with his wisdom and knowledge, he had taught us so much. He taught and preached God's Word. In 2010, Dr. Chambers retired and became Pastor Emeritus.
In 2011, the torch was passed on to Minister Charles A. Pinkney. Pastor Pinkney assumed his position and accepted his task to lead God's People. He served as the Shepherd of the Greater Liberty Baptist Church until December 2016.
On April 8, 2018, Rev. Pett Allen Jr. was installed as the new pastor of the Greater Liberty Baptist Church. After serving as Pastor Elect and walking with us spiritually, we welcomed him. Rev. Allen has displayed his love for God and for Greater Liberty. Greater Liberty is still holding on to God's unchanging hand. We believe there is work still to be done. We Honor, Magnify and Glorify the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
"We shall seek to fulfill our calling through prayer, worship service and Christian nurture.
Our members shall be built up in their faith and love, through proclamation of the Gospel by word and deed, and through ministering in the community to those in need, in the name of Jesus Christ. "

Our Mission at the Greater Liberty Baptist Church is to be devoted followers of Christ and become disciples so we can all help build up God's Kingdom. We will introduce Jesus Christ to all as Lord and Savior, help everyone know, follow and believe in Jesus.
Our Mission is to stay faithful to God's word, help others in need, show love to all, but most importantly love God first.
Fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Philippians 2:2
